Unity For Sisters Inc Charity ・ Our Charity.
Unity For Sisters Inc is a registered non-profit association in the state of Victoria, Australia. Four of our committee members have traveled to different regions of Southern & Northern Somalia (at their own cost) and saw first hand the reality of the situation on the ground. The experience has left them more determined to work hard to help alleviate the dire situation of Somali men, women and children.
100% of donations go to their specified destination, inshallah. All photocopying and other costs are donated by people for that purpose and all of our staff are volunteers from director to the sister working at the door of an event.
Unity For Sisters Inc Charity aims to:
- Provide financial support for the education of Women and Children throughout east Africa. Unity For Sisters Inc aims to build a school to educate Somali children. The school will be a community school which means that profits of the school will be put back into the school or the projects to help the surrounding community. This cost projection for this project is $100,000, inshallah. The school will be named Maryam Bint Kamal International School. We choose this name because our directors daughter passed away 3rd January, 2007 at the age of 2 years.
- Provide financial aid in areas of East Africa where famine has caused affliction upon local inhabitants. Unity For Sisters Inc is working in co-operation with a Somali based charity who buys food staples on behalf of Unity For Sisters Inc and distributes them, inshallah. In 2006 Unity For Sisters Inc sent $6000 Australian to assist the people on the border of Somalia/Kenya due to famine. With the support of the Australian community we helped hundreds of families, alhumdolillah.
- To financially support health awareness campaigns throughout East Africa. One of Unity For Sisters Inc ongoing projects is the 'clean child birth' project. 1500 child birthing kits have been made and will be distributed throughout Somalia, inshallah. We plan to make this a yearly project inshallah.
